Welcome to all new and old members of the clubs, as you can see from the attached calendar, we run events of our own and attend others around the country. These include events for beginners and the more advanced members.

New members do not need to purchase judo suits straight away, give your child a few weeks to make sure they enjoy judo and want to continue. They will need suits before attending any gradings or competitions. Suits can be purchased through the club, please ask for details.

We spend the first few lessons teaching the children to fall properly and learning basic throws and groundholds. After about four weeks we will have the children contesting amongst themselves. We also play some games at the end of the session which are designed to develop their understanding of judo.

We hold gradings twice a year in December and July.
Leagues are held locally and nationally and are very good events for beginners to attend for their first event as there is less pressure and more fun when competing as part of a team and supporting each other, thus not just the best ones win trophies at these events. We also hold courses on judo and aikido during the year, so if you do not want to attend championships there are other events which would be of interest to you.
